I think I'm the luckiest amp enthusiast on the planet... because I believe I have the most amazing amp ever built!!!
Seriously, this Triwatt is INCREDIBLE!!! Hands down it’s the BEST amp in my studio (and for those that don't know me, I have a lot of amps). It’s SO amazing. I’d go so far as to say it’s PERFECT!! The range is incredible – it really does do EVERYTHING! ...The Triwatt tone is smoother, and WAY ballsier than I remembered – perhaps that’s Phil’s “special sauce”
… Stephen told me someone that play tested it described it as a “big boy” amp and I concur – this thing is SERIOUS. I’m still getting reacquainted with it, but in the short time I’ve had it it’s BLOWING MY MIND…
Thank you for those very kind words, Brent. I am both stunned and delighted that you like the amp that much!
I find it hard to imagine how the Triwatt, as nice as it may be, could be the best amp out of the dozen or 20 or so Fender, Vox, Marshal, Mesa, Soldano, etc amps that you have - not to mention your big daddy Hiwatt DR103. Anyway, I'm stoked that you like it so much and have found it so useful! BTW what speakers have you been using with your new Triwatt?

So..is this a "true to schematic" Triwatt that we can all build, or has it been customized in some fashion.
It's the "Phil's special sauce!
No, actually this is a completely standard Triwatt of the current version, with the additional foot-switch option for the boost. The amp has been wired and built very carefully, while the prototype had also taken quite a bit of a beating, so that may have contributed to the difference in tone versus this brand new build. Relative to the original TRIWATT prototype amp Brent had used in the past, it has higher quality components (as supplied in Trinity's Triwatt kits). The optional Sozo caps in Brent's amp were burnt-in for about 200 hours before I put them into the amp, which is supposed to make them sound smoother. Plus AFAIK Brent has selected himself a real nice mix of tubes.
