I wanted something different looking for the TC-15 and I wanted it to be compact.
Head is 22" X 8" X 8" ; 3/4" baltic birch; Mesa wrinkle tolex; Black chicken head knobs*; silver braid piping; dog bone style handle; metal corners; black metal grill; inside botom aluminum RF shield.
* White Chicken Head Knobs are the normally supplied colour but I wanted to see what a "Stealth" model might look like! 8)

Here is the result:

I like the look of this one, coco! Goth!

I can't help but wonder: What if the text and knob indicator paint were glow in the dark? Perhaps a eerie orange? :D Am I too Techno? Given the gain, this could be used by NIN (Nine Inch Nails)!

John.

Kind of hard to see the silver piping in a pic. Looks good up close & personal though!

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments!! It's starting to grow on me as it sits atop the stack! Now it needs a matching 112 extension cab.

I had a customer drop Sunday AM by for an installation and while I installed, he played and it sounded just great. He played some cool Sunday morning jazzy stuff on his Vintage 60's, gold, Les Paul with P90s, until I said, "You know, it's OK to turn it up to max if you want." He made that TC15 Rock & Roll!! I think there may be a new fan! He commented on how versatile the Tone control was. When he switched to the EF86 channel (1), he forgot that the Master Vol & Cut worked on that channel as well. I reminded him and all I heard him say was 'jeez' as he cranked the dials and wound it out again.

What a lovely morning that was!

The more I look at it the more I think.....what a beautiful head! crap. I am still trying to come to terms with my 18 watt plexi envy I don't (do) need this.

Hey Larry.

I know your pain, but I am planning to rub some TC-15 salve on my itch!

Wow Stephen... that's gorgeous.

Any pics of the 1x12 cab you were building for it?
Very nice ... and the clips sound great!

Thanks jd. No pics yet. Cab is built, just not Tolexed / finished. Customers come first but next chance I get I'll do it. It will match the TC-15 in the picture.

Stephen your builds always look stellar.
I was wondering have you ever considered hanging the chassis from the top of the head cab?
I only say this because Mark Sampson intentionally did it that way to get the chassis and tubes hot - "apparently" it supposed to sound better that way with el84 getting real hot.

Yes, early designs were that way but I wanted to use as many common parts as I could and since the chassis are now silkscreened on the rear, I went with the upright layout. Of course it could flip it over with new front/rear panels.

Tubes get pretty hot either way.
