Got the layout :D :D :D
Drool....
So is the kit shipping? Of course, not that I'm building it yet.
She has to wait until the others are done, especially the sIII.
Thanks

The tone contour takes 30 min or so I guess, to do a clean job. OTW it gets messy fast.

The hold up on sending out the kits is the panel. Totally new design. Black reverse laser engraved with silver lettering. Worth the wait!

Stephen, is there a certain way you hold the components to the soldering pins, especially when your doing things like the tone control?

Ya know, I just noticed that the pics have an additional tube in the build for the TC-15, in comparison to the layout. How many tubes are used in the kit?

Aren't the pics and the layout the same?

(1) EF-86
(3) 12-AX7
(2) EL-84
(1) Rectifier Tube

...or am I missing something!

Just got back to my question (Wiring, wiring, wiring...). Looking at the schemo, I see the 7 tubes. So know I'm wondering what you did with the 8th tube. :D More fun? .
Also if I wanted to try a choke, you have 6H 150mA. I'm guessing a 6H 200mA would be okay. Found a Triad at Allied for $15.16. Seems reasonable. Allied's owned by Radiosphere's, so I can't imagine the Triad brand is that bad. :D
What do you think?
Thanks,
Jac

Count the sockets. There are 8 sockets in those pics.

Ah! I was only looking at the "front view" of the prototype. There must be one tube hidden from view by the big cannister cap. When I look at the underbelley, I see it......

Coco,

I don't need a turretboard design for the TC-15, but could you give me the outside dimensions, so I can cut it to size. I understand building them now, lot's of fun for me. I really enjoy building them. :D
Anyway, the OD will just make sure it's accurate for your chassis.

I EVEN got some nice fiberboard (very dark) and eyelets. I'll cut 2 , so it has a backing like the original. Although, I'm seriously debating hotgluing them together.

I've seen how they warp over time, and I think the hotglue could with stand the test of time. Keep the board more rigid.

Comments, anyone? Or other idea's.
Thanks, Jac

Been away, still on the road.

Extra socket is for reverb on the prototype only.
I would stick to 1/8" GP03 or G10 material if you can. Just my opinion. Seen some pretty old fibre boards material out there and they looked like a sinusoidal wave!! Whereas my 30 year old JCM800 is still straight as an arrow.

Be nice eventually to add reverb. :D No w I know you can do it :D :D At a later time. I already bought the fiberboard, so I'll use it, I'll make sure it's straight and stays that way. I already noticed something different about this board. When I'm done, I ll show a pic before I eyelet it. The sIII finish and the TC-15 will be a step by step pictorial, like we talked about. Good for the build notes on your site :D :D Now that I can actually use a camera

Sucks that you had to be on the road, saw my docs, they changed my meds again (the guinea pig) Put on a new experimental drug. At least 3 more months before I can work. Takes that long for results to hit on this med. :( :( but they think this one will work :D :D I'll be so happy to work again.

Now :D on to the brighter side :D :D That's 3 months to study and build amps    :D :D :D :D Ha Ha.

How many ams can you build (I'll be selling things just to pay for this venture, oh well). 1 guitar + 40 amps = pure pleasure

I think those pics would be pretty cool, Jac.

What I remember about the real Lightning's reverb was that it...stunk. It was bad. Very thin and whispy. I was able to play the Matchless Lightning w/ reverb in Santa Cruz a week before completing my Lightning last summer and remember the Trinity being an exact match.
