Anyone have an unbuilt original 15 watter or part built they started and never finished??

As much as I LOVE the TC15, with the EF86 channel which has an amazing tone, the original (which I have built into a 1x12 combo and use as my rehersal amp) for some reason really appeals to me.

Maybe I just need to build a 2nd TC15 for myself and put it into a combo?

Wow, I cant believe I am the only one with both the 15 and TC15??

I gigged my TC15 this weekend - but I couldnt get the same tone as I have been at practice with my 15...I am going to have to play them back to back and see if its all in my head.

Not to say I dont love the TC15, but it still sounds different to me. WOuld have liked to hear someone elses take on comparing the two...

I think you're the only one I know.

Lawrence seemed to think they were very comparable but the 15 did have a choke and used 4K OT loading.

Also, it depends on your setting crunch/munch. To duplicate the 15, set it to Crunch (5K) not 8K.

I use the 5K setting 99% of thie time...

I just swaped my tubes in the TC, will see tomorrw night (at rehersal) how they compare as I will try both throiugh the same speaker cabinet.

As you know, Stephen, I am also going tobe replacing the Celestion G12H30 in my 15 combo with a TT 12" ceramic. Just want to see the difference

Have to keep experimenting! lol
