Hello everyone. I am trying to decide between the above amps. I love jazz and blues and play clean 80-90% of the time but I also love a creamy overdrive where you can still hear the individual notes of a chord. I will likely want to use the amp with a reverb pedal and would occaisonally use it with an overdrive and other effects. I am leaning towards the TC-15 because of versitility but would appreciate advice. It will be used for 90% playing at home and occaisonally jams with friends.

:)

I LOVE my 15, and my 18 but for what you describe go for the 15... its still the most versatile IMO of the 2 and you can get both excellent cleans and overdriven tones.

Personally my TC collects dust while my 18 gets daily use....

Most here will tell you the TC is better.

I just like the extra balls on the 18 i think. The 15 is a much more versatile amp. But it doesn't do marshall.

I dont htink any of them are "better"... but for variety from a sparking clean (at a decently loud volume) to a crisp overdrive, to a warm creamy overdrive you cant beat IMO the TC15.

But yes, it doesnt do Marshall! So do what I did, get both!

You want OD on the TC, you go to the EF86 channel. Lots of b@lls there. Rest of the time, clean/sparkle, Jazz = TC-15

Then of course, there's the TRIWATT & & & &

I love the 18 Marshall crunch. I find the TC-15 more versatile.

Decisions, Decisions

For those who like cleans, however, the 18W sIII has lots of sparkling clean range in its TMB channel. So there you go now, two amazingly good amps to be undecided about!
