Hi,
I've been playing around with the EF86 channel using different value resistors on the cathode to change the amount
of distortion produced. I've got a 1K8 in at the moment and I'm fairly happy with the change. Just curious, how low could you go with this? Also would I get the same effect by raising the plate resistor?
Thanks

Try 220K for R33 and 750 ohm for R34 Play with the screen resistor (R34) a bit to get more what you like.

Check this out http://www.freewebs.com/valvewizard/pentode.html

Reading up on triodes, how they work and biasing would be also good (probably a better place to start).
