kurtlives and I just finished a Custom TC15 with a lot of traditional VOX mods and over spec'd transformers. One Top Boost channel and one EF86 channel. Switchable Master Volume and Master Cut Control. Matchless mode gain switch and extra toggle control to switch between Smooth Mode (VOX) and Crunchy Mode (Matchless). Even the power supply filtering was built to AC30 specs as were the values of some of the controls (500K versus 1M).

This Custom amp pretty well does VOX and Matchless in one package.

Not a surprise really but the concept proved that the board we designed for the TC15 and all the components inside can be used for a 15 watt AC30. We will probably add this as an optional design offering for sale in kits and our custom builds.

No one else is doing this type of amp so sounds like a good idea.

Any thoughts on that?

Awesome!
Looking forward to hear some clips or even comparison between this and the stock TC-15.
Any chance the schematic will be available?
Thanks for inspiring work.

We plan to do the comparison in a studio and with the customer and will eventually post the schematic and layout. If it all works out, we also plan to sell it as an alternate version of the TC15, probably called the TC1530.

I like that "mustard cap" on the Contour switch!

SiNce taking the first picture, I installed an 18V Zener diode voltage dump to get voltages into the AC30 range.

We will post the schematic and layout and the options we documented during the build. I have been trying to get some written feedback from the owner. I heard from his friend and Trinity customer that he very much likes it. I was blown away by it. It is one sweet option and we fully intend to pursue.
I know they have some recording equipment, but we have to count on hi. To do it for us as a favour.
More to come!

We will publish the schematic soon. Waiting for clips from the owner, but it may take a while. Comments so far are that it has the VOX character but more gain that he recalls an AC30 having. So he is going to try a 5751 in the position.
The circuit is almost exactly an AC30, but VOXs sometimes need a little TLC around the PI.
