How does this affect tone?

The schematic says use a 3H to 6H choke. I have a Hammond 3H 100mA choke from another abandoned project. I assume this will work OK. What affect does using a different value, like a 6H, make?

Since I have this choke, should I just go ahead and install it with a three-way standby switch like I saw someone do somewhere else here or should I just build it stock and make that a tweak for a later date? I doesn't sound TOO difficult to implement but I'd almost rather get it running stock before I go and do something like this. Make sense or am I over-complicating it?

3H vs 6H
No difference tone wise

I made my standby switch a 3 position switch (DPDT on-off-on). Choke-standby-resistor

Choke provides a bit clearer higher headroom type sound.

Since you have the choke I'd say go for it and try it in the amp. I wouldn't go looking for a choke or spending the money on one though if I didn't have one...

Thanks KL. Based on your response and Stephen's thoughts from an email I think I will skip it and save the choke for another project down the road.
