Hi all!
Just got back from the fiddler show with some interesting observations:
1. Matchless amps sell for insane money if they are from the 90s 2. There is a new builder here in TX who is cloning the Spit and Lightning and doing it PTP. His stuff looked pretty darn good considering he has only been doing this since October. But, he uses Hammond iron!!! 3. There was a vendor who had a couple of clones in shabby cabinets with a steel chassis and no faceplates and was asking $1500 each for them. What was he thinking? 4. I couldn't afford anything at the show. I tried to buy a TV front Deluxe cabinet in poor condition and couldn't pony up the 750 bucks for it. 5. Prices were crazy all around. 6. Eye candy was everywhere 7. EJ's show was groovy, but I wish he would write more material for cryin' out loud 8. He played a Bluesbreaker combo (the JTM45 kind) and 2 Bandmaster Reverb heads. I don't think I have ever seen him use the same amp twice. Last year was a 50W Super Lead with a BF Deluxe Reverb and a SF DR. 9. Doug Sewell (also from Dallas) makes some of the finest looking and sounding amps there are. Must pay to be an architect.
