Ok; I finnally got my mic to meet with my computer (alot harder then you think when you travel between two houses....)
Anyways, I've been fooling around for a while trying to get some good sound out of it(the amp always sounds good - the mic - not so much.)... please excuse the playing... i've never done jazz before, but i wanted to show how the amp behaved with the volume cranked and the guitar rolled back...I didnt really have a plan so there are many mistakes as i kind of just improvised this as i went along....
So there are three sections to this first clip - first one guitar is at about 2 vol, second one im at 5, and 3rd is full bore. I'm on the normal channel of an sIII (tone at 5, volume at 8 ) playing out of a fender hotrod deville combo (i dont have a speaker box for this - yet
with 2x12 custom fender eminence speakers at 4 ohms...) The mic is an audio technica from about 1970; not sure what type... i have it about 8 feet away from the cab pointing straight into it. from there it goes into my line 6 toneport TX2 with absolutly no coloring at all; the is straight mic to hard drive, no effects, colors; nothing.
My guitar is a fender strat mexican standard... tweaked a bit by me.. oh and im on neck pickup until about halfway through the third part of the clip, i threw it down to bridge for the short lead riff and left it there for the rest of the clip...
Hope you enjoy! TMB clips to come soon!
