Hello Everyone, New to this forum. I recently completed my first amp build. The overall assembly process was not to complicated thanks to the nice color schematic that I received with the kit. Here's where I have been: I checked every solder joint and jumper and rung out the entire schematic for continuity prior to powering up. I checked each lug on the socket and tested to key points on the board as I followed the schematic. After making sure all looked well, I flipped the switch. I saw no smoke, and heard no sizzle. At this point I started checking voltage across the caps and noticed all were way high and out of spec. I poked and prodded to see If I could find something wrong. Thats when I noticed I left off the ground lead that grounds the jumper between the 250 Ohm resistor and 16uf Cap. basically when I booted up the amp the first Cap was not gounded.
After fixing, I have no sound coming out of the speaker. I can check the caps with a volt meter and produce a crackle and pop. I have re wired the jacks and also re wired the coax that connects the volume pot to the 2nd lug on V2. no improvement. I'm confident that I have no missing jumpers and all of joints seem to be "nice and shiny". Is there a chance I fried something when I powered up the Amp with the missing ground? posted below are my current voltages. -Thanks a million for your help. can't wait to hear the fruits of my labor.
