Last night while jamming at a buddies, we had 1-8 ohm speaker plugged into the rear of the newly built tweed deluxe and plugged the 2nd 8 ohm in and it wouldn't work...I checked the diagram when I got home and it all seems to check out fine.. We figured because there are 2 jacks back there, that they should drive 2 speakers.. any thoughts?? thank you..

You may have wired the switch in series with the second jack, preventing a second sepaker from working. Also a safety feature. You should only run 1 cab at a time unless you have 2 16's in parallel.

Thanks Stephen: Do those speaker jacks use the same insulating washers as the guitar inputs ?? if thats the case there is none on either amps.. might not having anything to do with it, but wherever I touch I have continuity..

i've gone over that diagram more than a few times and looked at it ever which way and it looks correct to me.. the black wire on the 3 prong jack is closest to V2 and so on,,

He has 2 8ohm speakers in one cab, wired seperate from each other (2 speakers/2wires).. could the speaker polarity/cord have anything to do with it??

Jacks are not insulated from the chassis. I thnk your is wired up as a switch. just move the second leads to the same tabs as the first one if you want a parallel output.

I'm going off the centre pin of the 3 prong jack over to the farthest side of the two prong jack, which would be closest to V3 with the yellow OT wire..but I'll move it as per your recommendation Stephen..thank you..

IF you want to do a second speaker, OK. Yours is switched now

But REMEMBER: the IDEAL total load should be 8 ohms. That means TWO 16 ohm speakers in parallel. Two 8s is 4 ohms, and NOT ideal!

OK?

now I'm confused again....he has 2 8 ohm pseakers in one cab...each speaker is wired seperately with 1/4" phono plug on one end....IF I wire the amp input jacks as you perscribed (in parellel), will this work for him with these 8 ohm speakers or does he need 2x16 ohm speakers??

Here's how it was wired

This is the configuration that'll power 2 independent 8ohm speakers??
