Hello all. I've just started my first amp build and have a couple of questions.

1.When creating the circuit board, I am under the imprssion that you assemble all components, jumpers and flying leads and then solder once.
Is that correct?

2. I received 4 shouldered washers and 4 flat washers for my input jacks. The directions appear to show 8 sholdered washers. Does that make a difference?

3. I checked the values of all of my components. On my 16uf caps i have values of 16.7, 16.7 and 17.6.
Should I replace the one that is 17.6 or is that ok?

Thanks,
Scott

The caps are fine, more than close enough, go for it!

Your washers are fine.

Use the shoulder washers inside the chassis and the thin flat washers outside the chassis.

OK Thanks.
I'm still not sure about the circuit board. If I assemble it per the instructions and solder everything at once, I'll have some points with wires coming through both side of the board on some places. How do you solder that?

Hi Scott,

When the wires come through the eyelets bend them over so you have a short wire tag hanging over the eyelet to secure them in place. Here's a pic showing this on the first large filter cap on my Tramp board, there is a wire underneath the board to that point and you can see it's small tag end bent over to secure it before soldering. Note - This was a "Tramp" build I'm just using the pic to illustrate the technique.

Here's the same point after soldering with another Red wire added to the eyelet (slightly different angle, but you can see the same connection), once the eyelet is filled with solder, trim the little tags back level with the eyelet to clean it up. You can use the same technique for all the components. Just make sure you leave the soldering of eyelets where you have to add more wires until later when all the wires needed are in the eyelet, otherwise you will need to unsolder and resolder after adding the extra wires. That's where you need to think ahead and plan things out a bit.

Perfecto!
So all soldering is done from the top.
That's what I needed to know.
Thanks Snowy.
