Hi. Been having issues with the Trinity Deluxe in that the amp no longer plays as loud as it used to and the clean tones are missing and it plays only distorted in both channels. It still plays but gets distorted when the volume is increased. Wonder if I could get some advice on what to do next.
I've taken these V (DC) readings so far: (#1 is pin 1)
12AY7 V1: #1: 128V, #3: 1.98V, #6: 121V, #8: 1.97V
12AX7 V2: #1: 161V, #3: 1.26V, #6: 197V, #8: 47.9V
6V6 V3: #3: 389V, #4: 329V, #8: 19.9V
6V6 V4: #3: 400V, #4: 329V, #8: 19.9V
Mains is 120.2 and B+ is 400V
I replaced V2 and V3 & V4 with new tubes. The new results for V2 and V4 were as follows:
V2: #1: Not measured, #3: not measured, #6: 206V, #8: 48V
V4: #3: 394V, #4: 343V, #8: 21V
Not much real change but since the B+ is 400V am I correct in assuming the rectifier is ok or should I look at it as well?
I've already ordered another rectifier just in case and have extra pots that I could install. I can't see any bulges/breaks in any of the capacitors/resistors but I think the circuit board is the next area to look at. I'll take a look at the speaker but I don't see any rips in the cone. As a side note I am not the one who plays the amp, it was built for the step-son and he uses it as I''m just his personal tech/wallet... HA!
Suggestions on where to look next would be appreciated.
Frank M
