I'd noticed lately that I really liked the sound of my Trinity 5E3 while I was sitting on the amp. It had a clear thickness, (or a thick clearness), that I really liked. Sitting on it also seemed to cure a slight rattle I couldn't track down.
On Sunday night, while not sitting on the amp, I thought the sound was lousy.
Last night I decided to do a fastener check......3 of the 4 screws that mount the speaker to the baffle board were not tight. Not even snug. So I tightened everything up......what a difference a foot-pound makes. I've been a 6 month fastener check advocate on my PA gear for years, but somehow let it slide on the amp, even though it travels far more than the PA.
This is a small lesson to learn but a regular go around with a phillips screwdriver and a small box wrench is an amazing sound tweak.
