Yeah, it's a bugger to solder on to the switch terminals. So are the other wires that need to be soldered on to that switch. I hate 'em all.

Guys... before mounting the switch into the chassis, solder the appropriate color/type wires (slightly longer than you think you will need) and the diode to the switch in a holding vise or mounted in a 1/4" hole, anything to hold the switch facing outward somehow so it's easy to rotate and work on. When you've finished soldering you could even heat shrink a couple of the soldered wires at this time if you desire. Mount the now pre-wired switch into the chassis and solder up the other ends of the wires to the cap, tag board, etc. as shown in the layout drawing. I would think it would work out easier in this direction than soldering straight down onto the switch. Many parts in these builds can be soldered or partially soldered in advance of mounting them in the chassis. Food for thought.

It's a pain getting the diode leads through the tiny lugs on the switch too. I enlarged the holes a bit with a needle & that made it easier.

I did not enlarge the holes I just made the leads into little hooks. Then I wired the leads to the switch and put my diode on like a little swing and soldered it into place. Works great!

Realizing this wasa construction problem, I redesigned the board so the diode goes on the board with leads to the switch. Next release will include that mod.
