:D Just started build so here is the first of many dumb questions. I've got a Metroamp 50 watt kit and a Tramp kit under my belt but I can see that the Triwatt is a little more invoved.

I can't read the schematics so I'm using the layout and the forum photos as my main guide. I just finished wiring my heaters as per the Zaphod build pic and noticed that it doesn't seem to follow the layout. I've wired my octal pin 2 across to 4 &5 on the V1-V4's and octal pin 7 across to pin 9 on V1-V4. Is this OK? The layout seems to indicate the opposite to what I've done.

thx

You've got me a little lost here. V1 - V4 are 12AX7 pre amp tubes. The heaters are wired to pin 4 and 5 (jumpered together) and pin 9. Keep the polarity of the 4 - 12AX7 tubes in phase (always use the same path for pin 4 and 5 and the other path for pin 9). Pin 7 is a grid, not a heater.

Sorry I'm not being too clear. The wires going from the power tubes over to the pre-amp tubes come off pins 2&7. On the pre-amp tubes these wires connect with 4/5 and 9. My question is does it matter what pin from the power tube goes to what pin on the pre-amp tubes as long as you keep consistency once you get to the pre-amp tubes?

OK, now I get it. Just keep the power tube wiring scheme consistent. You've got it OK.

Thanks for the compliment, I hope I was helpful. I was little confused, after re-reading your original post it makes perfect sense. Take your time, ask questions as they arise. You'll love this amp.

I don't think it makes a difference AS LONG as all the 12 A*7 tubes are wired the same and the 2 power tubes are wired the same (Heater wise).

Thought I'd try to upload a photo of my work so far. I'm no computer genius so I'm not sure if this will work. If it doesn't maybe someone can tell me how to get a photo onto my post.

Thanks for the  . Although I'm very much looking forward to playing this amp, I'm really wanting to enjoy the build. I could possibly set a record for time spent on a kit. I've seen so many photos of really nice work so my goal is to copy what I've seen. Hopefully things will pan out. More questions to follow I'm sure. Cheers all.
