Hey guys,

Another question here on the Triwatt. This is about the layout and build doc pot lug numbers. I started wiring up the pots and had a moment of confusion. When looking down at the top of a pot with the lugs facing you, the number ordering I am familiar with are 1, 2, 3. However, in the layout image the numbers seem to be 3, 2, 1. Looking at the OSD layout and comparing to the images of the completed build, the lugs are numbered 1, 2, 3. And the lugs are face up when looking down at the bottom of the chassis, same as the Triwatt. So, the Triwatt layout and build doc seems to have the lug numbers reversed. Just wanted to double check this before I wire the pots up that I am not missing something silly... I don't want to have all my pots going in the opposite direction. Looking at images of other builds that other users have posted it seems that following the layout is the thing to do.

The layout agrees with the schematic so disregard the numbers and wire the pots as shown.

I did some additional research and learned something. Pretty much all the schematics I have worked with the lugs have been labeled 1,2,3 with 3 being the fully clockwise position. But, pots don't have a consistent labeling mechanism. Did not know that. I found the following forum post on DIY Stompboxes.

The summary of R.G's response it is that the fully CW position can be denoted with a dot, arrow, or "cw". Lug numbering is really up to the designer as is how to symbolize the pot in the schematic. I see now how the layout is consistent with the schematic.

I totally assumed this was the case, but because this was different than anything I have worked with before I just wanted to verify for my own clarity of mind.

I will check on this Ralf. It still confuses me!
