I finally got the amp mostly working but the bright input jack is not passing a 1/4" cable signal at all. Turning the bright channel volume knob up does increase amp noise/hiss, and it interacts with the master volume knob. The normal channel works fine, and the link channel sends the normal channel's signal.

I've tried rewiring it twice but no luck, photos are in a link below:

I'm getting full continuity through all wire runs on it to the other jacks, the chassis ground lug, and the chassis tab on the opposite side. It's gotta be something minor that I'm just looking over.

Thanks again.

I’m out right now, but I have a quick suggestion. Turn the amp on and bring up the volume for the Bright channel and the master a bit, but not too much. Tap one of your probes on pin 2 of V1. If you get noise, the problem is before that point and there’s not much before that. If you do get a noise when you tap pin 2 of V1, your problem is probably the wiring of the input jack or a problem with the coax. Could be the wiring on the terminal strip or a bad resistor from the terminal strip to pin 2, but I doubt it.

Forgot to comment back - got both inputs and the Linked channel working and sounding great. Very pleased with the amp and I finally have the Hiwatt sound I've wanted for a long time. The overdrive switch gets that squeal when cranked all the way, but I read up on how to fix that and will mess around that next weekend.

Thanks again for all the help over the last couple of weeks, looking forward to popping it into the cabinet when it arrives.

Excellent, I’m glad it’s working!

I’m going to revisit the overdrive in a new video soon. I’ve been messing around with it and, once I have it dialled in, I’ll do a review of that feature.
