It works! After a minor hiccup without any sound whatsoever (pins 5 and 6 on V2 are rather similar looking) I've got my first tube amp up and running. Thank everything holy for this forum; whenever I had a question there was either a thread that dealt with exactly my problems or a photo that showed the solution. Take a bow, everyone.
On to the question: I neglected to connect a jumper between the middle (chassis) lug and the right lug on the power ground terminal strip, instead running the green lead from the C12 cathode directly to the middle lug. Should I be amending this? I see both happening in images on the forum.
I'm thinking that the improper grounding could be resulting in a slight decrease in output volume -- even when "eleven'd" in tweed mode (avec 6v6) the amp is still a tad quieter than I was expecting.

ps. Apologies for the bardolatry. Writing and electricity rarely dovetail so nicely.
