I am in the planing phase of building a tramp kit, and i would prefer to use lead free solder.
I have a good, brand new soldering station that should be lead free compatible.
Will it get the part too hot?

Why do you want to use lead free?

It's a pain to work with and unless you're a big company that is shipping amps all over the world lead free is fine (EU has laws on lead in products). There is no health/safety risks of using lead solder.

Actually, you answer my question. I was on the false impression that there was a health consern.

Thank you

A more pressing concern may be the fumes from soldering. Try and use a small fan to blow the smoke from soldering away from your face and maybe wash your hands really well after handling the solder.

I don't like lead free either and I try to avoid the fumes. I have tried it and find it quite hard to work with. for a few projects you work on, I don't think there is a concern.
