Hello,
I'm new.
I am deciding between the Tweed and the Tramp, or so I imagine. I play country, rockabilly, and jazz: more jazz than anything. I rarely use much distortion at all, just a little crunch in the attack from time to time, or a little texture with the jazzbox to give a little edge to quite a bassy tone.
So the question is, which amp would be better? I am thinking that if it is to be the Tweed, the 6L6 option might be preferable for more headroom, a little more "dimension" in the clean maybe, based on my experience with 6V6's vs. 6L6's. I don't currently have a 6L6 amp, and I'd like to, so I guess that might be coloring my thinking, perhaps wrongly.
So that's the goal: clean with headroom, an open clean sound, and sounding good with the treble killed (typically by the guitar tone control) for jazz. Distortion sounds are secondary.
Thanks very much for any help you can give.
P.S. I'll be making the head version.
