Interesting that they solder the sockets with the tubes in place. I'd probably wind up soldering the pins in permanently.

Some people do it this way. Sometimes if you solder a pin too much and can flow down into the tube pins and clog them up. This prevents the tube pin from going in. Soldering the tube pins while the tube is in place prevents this.


It was an interesting video to see, Fender actually seems to fully hand assemble these amps. I know a lot of their older "hand wired" amps weren't fully wired.
But yeah defiantly handwired. Can't say the inside build quality was amazing though.

I have to admit it would be pretty sweet to have all my wires prepped to length (probably tinned too!) when building my own. :D
