I've been happily using my Tramp Head sitting atop my Tweed Deluxe and using the Deluxe as a speaker cab (with Texas Heat Speaker), this has been working great....But....I just found this 1 x 12" Blonde cab and I think it might be a great match for my Tramp Head, the measurements are 21.5" (W) x 18.5" (H) x 12.5" (D), so it's a bit bigger and there's quite a bit more internal space (no chassis to take up any of that space either) than my Deluxe cab, plus it can be optioned with a convertable 3 piece back that allows removal of one of the panels for open/closed back configuration tonal change.
Local to me Aussie builder too.

I think the Tramp might like it a lot!

A Texas Heat or Canibus Rex in that cab would get some nice big tones out of the little Tramp I think!

I'm very tempted.....

Poor old Tweed Deluxe doing Piggy-Back duty.

Feel free to comment guys, I know there's at least a few other Tramp Head builders here, I'm interested to hear/see what others are using as cabs/speakers with their Tramp Head builds.

Cab looks promising. Go for it. Speaker choice is tough. Since the Tramp has so many voices, I think you want an efficient and clear speaker. We have used the Jensen blackbird, tone tubby alnico, & ceramic all with good success. I know some of the Eminence ones worked very well, the Alnico one they have is very expensive though.
Look for efficiency equalt to or better than 95 db / M.

Thanks Stephen,

I'm a fan of Eminence speakers, the Texas Heat sounds really good with my Tramp (and any other amp I try it with), very gutsy, big solid bottom, smooth top and Fendery sounding. I am curious how the Cannabis Rex would sound with the Tramp. Very efficient too at 102dB sensitivity, I think it will be a good match with the Tramp for live work.

I really like that rough blonde tolex. Looks really sharp (same with the Tweed too!)

It's fun experimenting with speakers with the Tramp. The fairly simple circuitry seems to really lend itself well to many different speakers.

This is what I use my Tramp with

Those cabs look great kurtlives, nice selection there. I bet the Tramp sounds huge through that large twin speaker cab, it looks a bit like a Bandmaster cab sitting on it's end. 8)

I'm going to go for the 1X12 cab, I decided the Tramp definitely deserves it's own matching cab (Fender Rough Blonde Tolex with Wheat Grill cloth), I've really grown to love this amp. I'll give the Cannabis Rex a try and see how it goes, when the cab is completed I'll post back with a pic and sound report.

Well guys I received the cab today, matched Rough Blonde Tolex and decided on Wheat grill cloth.

Here's the back, nice and deep, plenty of internal volume and the speaker I went with is a hemp cone Cannabis Rex.

Nice. Curious to hear some review on that speaker with that amp.

That's a nice little rig there! The blonde half stack looks uber cool.

Thanks guys, I couldn't be happier with my Tramp. Once I get this speaker broken in I'll report back with some comments about the tone, apparently the CR speakers take a bit of breaking in.
