On my Tramp with both volumes on 5 in tweed mode, I get hardly any volume output. It seems the usable range is between 5-11. Also on the tone controls, the variation seems very subtle low to high on both bass and treble. I'm just wanting to see if this is normal before I deliver this to my brother next week.

6l6 tube, BBQ Silver 10 and 12" WGS Veteran 30.

Where do you have the power setting at? 5 on the master and 5 on the volume should be pretty loud...

Power is 100%. The amp sounds great but volume doesn't really begin until both are set to at least 5. Big volume sweep between 8 and 11.

Most of my amps kick in at 1 or 2.

With the 6L6 I would have thought it would be louder sooner. How is it with the tude switch pulled out?
The tone controls are pretty subtle, the trade off for slightly more gain actually.

The volume controls respond the same in both modes, Stephen, but lots of gain for sure in tude.

Yeah, good voltages. It's plenty loud maxed out. When master is maxed, I don't get much until the volume is on 5 and then it rapidly changes between 5 and 11. The same is true when the volume is maxed...I have to turn the master to 5 to get anything.

I'm not even sure this is a problem. I'm just used to the volume starting at 1 or so. The amp sounds great.

Ok, I will feed back something later today. If it sounds great, that's good!

I just decided to take it on down. He was happy with it. Here's the completed combo.
