I was having some squealing in 'tude mode when I first built my Tramp. I googled it and found the following thread which addresses that particular squealing issue: http://www.trinityamps.com/phpbb/viewto ... =16&t=3166

Carefully moving the wire on preamp pin 6 helped reduce my issue (using a wooden chopstick); it was a little trial and error, but this helped dial down that squeal. Is that the problem to which you are referring? If so, try following the advice in that thread and move the wires on preamp pin 6 away from pin 2. Use a non conductive wooden chopstick and see if that helps.

Hey Twang. Haven't heard back from you. Is that squealing distortion what you have? Have you tried moving the adjusting the wire on the preamp pin 6 to see if that helps?

Yes, that area is surprisingly sensitive. Short wires, short grid stopper leads are key here.

I had just loud hum issues.
a big part of it was in the ground connectors.. the little metal loops that fit over the ground bolt.
I filed them on both sides... and poof it went away.
But, I kept messing around in there.. added the Fat/Thin Switch back in..(had taken it out chasing the
hum)
and it came back.
traced that again to ground.. a solder joint that had gotten weakened.

This thing sounds fabulous! I really have to say great job Trinity.
Seriously good tone everywhere.. it's just an excellent clean or dirty..
and at low or high volume.. stands right up for tone.

I did this, as you can clearly see, on the fly or however you want to describe it,
and I'm no genius to start with. Converting a VJ chassis and cab, with a Watts board,
into this was quite an adventure.
But man.. the tone!
And really quite a solid variety.. clean or dirty, I think you can find what you want and be
really happy.
The loud dirt on this beats the pants off my tweed deluxe at 15Watts.
I can sit and fingerpick.. even my acoustic (Breedlove acous/elec jumbo 6) sounds excellent.
I can comp chords.. rock out..country clean to more modern dirt edged country.. blues..
it's got a ton of great stuff.

The guy I built it for modified a 2X12 cab to 4X10.. I think he's gonna be totally nuts about what
he's getting.

I found a used amp, 1X12, and I'll have to get a new chassis for it.. but I'll swing Trinity's way when I
put the parts in. I don't like to use peoples stuff and not payback when I can.
But I gotta have one, hey!

Cool. glad you got it quieted down. Now if you use some really good iron like ours, its going to sound better.
