Retainers. There are only so many designs of retainers for power tubes that I have found - wires, springs, clam shell (octal). The wire ones are actually the best in my opinion, but there is a trick to putting them into place. One side of the retainer is "open". This is the side you push over the top of the tube. Therefore, there is no need to "stretch" the spring, or to lift it over the 'pointy tip'. This is not the easiest thing to do.

Srping ones are OK, but I don't like the springs vibrating on my tubes and they have to be stretched over top.

I was wondering, :?: has anyone found a better design retainer clip :?:
I'd be thrilled to try them out.

At Angela.com I found these NOS tube retainers that utilize a 8-32 theaded rod and a thumb screw that picks up the hole on the mounting ear on an octal tube. Very retro. I'm using them to secure my rectofier tubes.
