Sorry, jcny, but a Hiwatt, well wow! I don't know of anyone that's tried one except for the new, umm (stupid disease) ummm. Oh, I can't remember, the little one everyone's doing.
Anyway to do a 40 or 50 watt (hmm, sorry bgroup I actually opt for the 40 watt) would be cool. You could have the ultra clean and Trinity's wonderful distortion at the same time. After 40 watts, well hold on to your ears
I'm already partially deaf, let's not expand the issue.

So my new vote is for a Hiwatt/ reverb/Trinity! Nice

I think we may have an excellent 'verb for the 18. Already working - not in production.

As an add on, can put controls in the back of a head but as a production sIII with verb, we'd have to drop the normal channel.

For that "occasional" urge for surf, I think I would rather have a stand alone tube reverb like the 6G15 or just add reverb at the board. Most of the joy of these amps is their simplicity... guitar goes in, high voltage magic elves sprinkle Super Tone Dust™ (STD) on the signal and shoot it out to the speaker. No side trips through the extra electronics and springs. Besides it's way more fun to pull the cars out of my garage and mike the amp out there! If you're lucky you can nail the track before the cops show up

Where would you fit a reverb in an sIII

With an SIIIv6 with VRM it's getting CROWDED in there

As much as I'd like a JTM45, a Hiwatt sounds interesting

No more than 50 watts, with a VRM designed in

Reverb sounds interesting and I think it would work better on a clean amp than one that gets too gritty.

The nice thing about the Hiwatts is that there are a number of preamp variations around.

There is at least a "Townsend" version and a "Page" version of Hiwatts that were specifically modified for each of them that I know of.

So there are a number of variations available from the get go.

And, how about some sort of Supro?

Supro sounds great. I think there's only 1 other kit on the market. I didn't like the chassis and the layout was, well average. Wonder if it would fit in your chassis?

Once everyone has there input in, you should have a voting chart to see what would win just an idea

I actually have a supro 24 in the shop, and it's not spectacular. Could be the "Jensen special edition" speaker it came with but I cant see any reason to do that one.

Looking for lower power and higher power than what we currently have, and coverage of sounds.

Then I still go with a 40 watt Hiwatt/sIII/verb. Your talking major power, wonderful clean and the Trinity distortion And talk about different. There's nothing like it anywhere
My son has a pod xt live . He will not play without it. Remember your talking young band here. Different music then us. He wants a clean amp. Presently uses a Roland (yuck) introducing him to the TC. going to take a little while.
Anyway, the Hiwatt would give him everything he needs. Plus the distortion (that he's learning he needs) from a Trinity. In addition the reverb that he has to have at all times.
Remember I live with the "new" wave". Whatever that is

But as much as I love my distortion I love clean, reverb and surf. So many different types of music.

Oh and as far as lower power, just do an sIII lite Maybe only 5 watts. That would be great fun Single 84, 1 12AX7 and a rectifier. With your layout, I'll bet that'll sound great!

Am I the only person here with a fondness for tremelo? As much as I use my Trinity 5E3 kit #1, I continually go back to my Victoria Victorilux just to play with the tremelo. Full depth, slowest rate, neck p'up, tone rolled back a bit and altered dominant chords and I'm one happy camper.

OK, how about something along the lines of a Gibson GA-40 or even better a GA-45, (vol., vol., bass and treble instead of just tone withtrem depyh and frequency and reverb) with tremolo and reverb?



The 45 only came as a 4 x 8 if I remember correctly, let's do variations like a head, 2x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x12 and 1x15.

Also we could set it up for 6L6's along with 6v6's (heck, even el34's ) to get a higher power version.

As for distortion with a Hiwatt, my DR103 does break up nicely when it really gets cooking, but for lower volume folks that want distortion, I'm not sure if there's an amp that takes pedals better than the Hiwatt. And I think VRM in the Trinity Hiwatt is a great idea...

Reverb in a Hiwatt would be pretty cool... but I think I'm on the page of the Trinity Surfverb being in it's own case - then I could use it on other things in the studio as well!!! And just think, you could use it with ALL your Trinity amps, not just the one it's built into!
