No one in the 'know' of why the forum no longer exists, is going to comment on it.

Well if no one "in the know' is going to comment on it maybe we can speculate. ****'s lawyers contacted those who are in the know and told them a lawsuite was forth coming if it continued.
Its very sad, but I guess on one hand I can understand where hes comeing from but on the other hand to me I would see it as a possible boost for his busniess because we were never going to buy one anyway and isnt imitation the greatist form of flattery? and the greatest form of advertisment? Besides he openly admits that the original designe was based on a hammond reverb amp along with other portions of the circuit being modled after other designes.
Oh well I gusee that ansers my question as to what amp I will be building next. . . I think ive come to realize the Lightning is a more flexible amp anyway...

If he didn't patent his circuit, isn't it fair game?

There is almost no such thing as a patentable tube guitfiddle circuit. They are all copies of stuff published in the 50s. But, there are always threats...

Yep...and unfortunately...the builders that are most guilty of circuit theivery...are the ones that are the biggest bullies when it comes to schematics going around...Probably in a desperate attempt to prevent someone from figuring out just how much of a fraud he or she is.

Fulltone comes to mind. He's got several pedals that, circuit-wise, are almost complete rip-offs of someone else's stuff. At the same time, if he comes across someone trying to reverse engineer a pedal or post a schematic, he turns into a pit bull. He's now resorted to pouring some kind of goop in his new psycho-comulsive-klepto pedal....acording to some stories I've read, if you try to remove the stuff, there's a good chance you damage the pcb. He probably stole this design from Boss as well...and is scared to death more people come to the conclusion he's a fraud.

Granted, he's the worse case scenario....there are other guys out there, amp builders too, that are almost as bad....

Mike Fuller is hands-down the biggest no-talent ass clown in the guitar gear biz. Randy Smith actually had at least one original design idea once.

That's not what bother's me about him. There's plenty of talantless schleps in this business, on all ends of it...performance, MI, management, roadies.

My problem is what these losers stoop to, just to protect a business centered around worse case stolen, best case unoriginal designs....

The diff is in the integrity of the individual. Robert Keely doesn't do much of anything original, but he has the integrity to give credit where it is due.
