I built a cabinet with a similar construction as the the Peavey classic 50 pictured below. The baffle has the 4 x 10" cut outs. I have decided I will only mount two speakers into the cabinet. Do I have to make a new baffle to support two speakers or can I mount two speakers into the existing baffle leaving the other two cut outs as is?

You'll get what's called a detuned cabinet (google it). It will work, you might even like the sound.
