As a rule, I do not ground my output jacks. Some builders do, some don't. Any discussions on the merits of either way? I heard that they helped reduce some TMB squeal, but apart from that?

My first amp was built with the output jacks insulated (not purposely, the jacks were cliff, they insulated regardless)....

...In an effort to troubleshoot noise elsewhere in the amp, it was recommended to me to ground the jacks. Doing so made zero change....

These days, I ground the jacks in an effort to 'cross that particular t'...so that if I have a troublesome amp, I can feel safe knowing the output jacks aren't the culprit...

I always ground my output jacks or at least I tend to use self grounding jacks, the only problems I have had have been when I tried insulated jacks on the output and ended up having to run a ground.

Has anyone tried this.? I did and found 0 volts to ground so I didn't bother grounding the output jacks. Maybe they should be for safety??

Touching an un-grounded speaker jack and a gounded guitar could bite you! There may be only low voltages from the OT's, but without a ground reference this will float above ground. Since the guitar is grounded at the input, you could get shocked.

Test: Measure the un-grounded speaker to ground and see what the meter shows! I have heard 80-100 volts or higher reported with some OT's!!

I did this and measured Zero.
