If you had a choice for a second primary impedance for a 20 watt tranny, what would you choose?

and..

If you were going to use 6V6s in an 18 watt, what output transformer impedance would be preferred for a B+ of 350V? 8K, 6K, 5K?

I am getting some transformers made up & would like to get a second primary tap set that would be optimized for a 6V6 version of the 18 watt.

8K for the EL84, ideally, what do you think for the 6V6s?

Do a Poll Stephen, I go for 6.5K and 8K as you already know.

s2 once told me that the 6v6's like to see 8k, and anything less than that isn't good for the tubes....whereas you can go down to 4k with el84s.

I think, so long as you have a good solid 8k tap that can handle the juice from 6v6s, you're golden!

OK, but I have a choice. The first prototype had 5K, but I could go to 4K or 6.6K. :?

4K would be cool because theroetically, you could use it for a lightning as well. 6.6K might make the deluxe crowd happy.

Decisions - Decisions. I need an answer in 48 hours!

6.6k is the norm for tweed Deluxe, but to judge by MM offerings, they may have crept up towards 8k at the end of that era.
