Decided to figure out what's wrong with an old AX84 P1 amp I built. Got worried that I was charging the filter caps while testing them. So, I made this today. A capacitor discharge tool or a "snuffer", as W_e_b_e_r calls it.

Brass rod ($4) from Lowes, 100K, 5W resistor, 1/4" banana plug, bare alligator clip (fits on plug) and LOTS of heat shrink :!: If interested, here's the link to YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLDCV-n1BDw
I fortunately had some large heat shrink (3/4 or 5/8"). OOPS, posted double pics :bugeye:
