It's hard having nothing to solder...

So have you cleaned up the Lightning and got all the problems sorted out now? Maybe it is time to start a sIII 18Watt TMB, I have just started my second one, built the board yestareday and I am just starting on the chassis.

Yep - it's doing great. I've built drum kits (http://www.languagepool.net/webs/chalkb ... image0.jpg), don't know how many guitars, but this is the first thing that's really made me proud to play. I wish I could convince myself that building another amp would be something I could find a need for. I was thinking about the DC-30. But I like this amp so much, I can't convince myself that I wouldn't hinder myself by making another. I don't think I'd use either of them in as fully of a way as I'd use and spend time with one of them. I think I'm going to pick up The Tube Amp Book to try to learn more about what's happening in the Lightning to produce the sound it does.

The Marshall sound is just not something you're going to get out of a Lightning. So if you had one of each ... then you'd always have an option.

I guess, there's always pedals if you must solder! or you can expand on the lightning (EF86).

I've already thought of some mods I'd like to do. Nothing major. I want to make the cut permanent. I have it up all the way, so I might as well just put the cap on the master and eliminate some wire. And I want to add a standby.
