Gad zooks! This thing looks freaky but plays very nicely. Lower output TV Jones classic pickups, a bigsby and stainless steel were added by a previous owner. It's light, fast and very toneful. Nice work.

Clips to follow soon.

Glad you like it guys. It is really growing on me. I think I got this becuase I needed to fill the "freaky guitar" hole in my stable. I am very traditional usually...er with guitars anyway. I have no flying v or explorer type axes. I think this fills the bill quite nicely (only one on the block etc....). Don't see many round these parts.

The original owner, a fine fine guitar player know as Farcaster, sold it to a friend of his who immediatly had it modded. Bigsby, SS frets, TV Classics. He then sold it back to the original owner who had since spied a '56 Les Paul. To get the guitar he had to sell a bunch of guitars and this was one of them. The guitar was about 2k.

Thanks to Bo and Billy for a fine pickin' machine. Oh, and if you are every considering a refret you really have to look at stainless steel frets. They play like butter if you are a string bender.

Well, I hadn't actually played any ZZTOP stuff with the guitar until now. I figured at this point, this should be the first side of the guitar that one should hear. Like going home in a way.

More to come later but for now I pretty much nails the Texas swamp shuffle.

Nice tone, What amp? What settings?
We need to know, plus I'm so close on the sIII.
Now if I'd stop taking breaks

That guitar may look funky as hell, but if it inspired you to play something new that well I say "S-C-H-W-I-I-I-N-G ! ! ! 8)

Thanks for sharing the pic and the clips.

Chip

P.S. I don't think it was a 5E3 Deluxe

That's the TC-15. Well, that's my guess anyway.

That sounded wicked. Was the reverb added in the mix? It sounds really natural.

Ooo! Deluxe, Trinity 15? Anymore SWAGs?

I will tell you that I was using a Vertical avatar 2x12 cab with a Ceramic TT on top and Alnico TT on the bottom. Each speaker was miked separatly with a 57 on the alnico and a large diaphram condencer on the ceramic.

That's the sound! Sweet! I could feel the rumble of the lyrics forcing themselves from my diaphragm! So...what was the amp? Don't keep us in suspense!

Genral, I'm afraid to say that the rumble in your belly was probably digestive in nature. And happy to day that the amp was my trusty Trinity sIII 18 watt. The channels were linked with all the volumes at 12 o'clock and the tone on the normal channel at 12 o'clock too. I will have to go home an check to see if the boost was on and where the TMB tone controls are set.

The really cool thing was how clean and smooth the whole thing sounds when the volume is rolled back on the guitar. This is somthing I have started doing a lot to vary the sound of the guitar.
