Hi All,

First post here. I’ve learned so much from reading/lurking so thank you. I am not a pro and still have a ton to learn, so forgive me if I use the wrong terms or ask in a way that is confusing. I’ve searched extensively but not been able to find a clear answer to what I’m wondering.

I’ve got a Silvertone 1482 that I love love love. I especially love it when it is pushing the power tubes hard, but it is too loud most of the time. So I’m looking at putting in a VRM from Trinity. I want to scale the whole amp (no MV), but not scale down the function of the tremolo. The 5e3 is similar, but not identical, and I’ve got a couple of questions about how to pull it off.

I’m attaching:
- the schematics for a 1482 (which I have a hard time entirely reading).
- A wiring diagram for a 1472 (almost identical to 1482, and having studied it and my actual 1482 interior, I am pretty sure the wiring is the same re the B+ path
- A pic of what I think is the relevant part of the interior of the actual amp.

Questions:
1. Where should I break into B+ and have it enter and exit the VRM? I imagine there are a few options, but I want to get it right. (Between the rectifier and the can, or the can and the first power tube, but I’m not sure, and I’m not sure which connections to break into as there is a lot going on there!).
2. What should I do to avoid having the VRM scale down the trem?
