Hey everyone

I saw The Guitar Amp Handbook today in Barnes & Noble and grabbed it. I know enough to understand the basics, but I'm still what I'd consider a newbie. I'm through the first chapter though, and it's really filling in a lot of holes for me, starting at the inputs of a tweed Princeton, and following the signal through each piece of the chain to explain what the components are doing to the signal and some theory. It's definitely worth the $25 I spent!

Sorry Jac, I got the name wrong. The Guitar Amp Handbook, by David Hunter.

http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Amp-Handbo ... 135&sr=8-1

I agree about books. That's why I'm in school to get my English credential :)

Own it, Great book.
One of the I swear I'm going to build it.
The amp he's building is great. You can build basically a THD and swap tubes. I have the turret board built. I can put a pic up if you want.
I also bought the book at B& N.
Later.

My B&N sucks--no copy. Had a gift card, too.

Great book.

I really like the "definition" of solid state in the glossary

I guess for those who don't have the book I should reproduce it, eh

"Solid State - a component that has been specifically designed to make a guitar amplifier sound bad. Compared to tubes, these devices can have a very long lifespan, which guarantees that your amplifier will retain it's thin, lifeless and buzzy sound for a long time to come.

Have any of you read the section regarding Two-Rock in the interview with Ken Fisher? Or the part about Dumble? Haha, man, either harsh or very ego-driven stuff!
