I'm getting a bomb of tone tubby 12's. (one ceramic one alnico)

they are going to be set up so i can use either the the ceramic, the alnico, or both...

Does it matter whether i get 16 ohm speakers (making them 16 on thier own, 8 together) or 8 ohm speakers? (8 on thier own, 4 together?)

I'm leaning towards 8ohm ones, as then i have a 4 ohm load for my fender deville, which is it's output...

But 16ohm may be nice too, because if i ever upgraded to a 4x12 i could do it quite easily...

Thanks for all ideas/ opinions...

Mark

Well, cabs are usually 8 ohms standard load, so that would mean 2-16s. My vote anyway FWIW.

but here's a thought- 2 -8s can be put in parallel to give you 4 or in series to give you 16, or one each of 8. Series is not the 'best' configuration, but it works.

I favour 2 X 8 Ohm in a 4Ohm parallel configuration for some reason don't know why but it just looks better and if for some reason one speaker went open circuit you would still have some load on the OT.

I decided to do 2x8ohm...

My reason is soley for the fact that my fender deluxe output is 4ohms....
