First time post..thank you, folks at Trinity, for hosting these forums. Very informative.

What is your recommended first timer kit? I'm a total rookie..I've been reading your forums, Rob Robinette, and elsewhere... itching to make something once I understand it a little better.

Thanks!

Easiest is the Trifly, then Triton, Tweed, Tramp, 18 Watt, TC15, Triwatt, TripTop, OSD.

TriFly does cover almost all aspects of building an amp - it's a real amp, 2 tubes, just small. Triton difficulty is like building a Champ.

I would say any of Trifly, Triton, Tweed are good first timers. However, we have had first timers build every model so it can be done with patience, and by reading all the material and asking questions! #1 thing is to be able to solder and follow instructions.

Thanks for the reply, Stephen -- I'm pretty darn curious about the TriFly. Hope to build one soon!

It's a great little amp to learn on.

I would suggest....Triton, Tramp and Tweed. Trifly is very simple. If you do the Tramp, read the forum articles on the OT switch! I would also check Joey Velour's article in Backstage>Resources viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1261

Any of Trifly, Triton, or Tweed are good options for beginners, in my opinion. However, we have had beginners build every model, proving that it is possible if you have patience, read through all the instructions, and ask questions! The ability to solder and follow directions comes first.flagle

I built a Tramp for my first kit build. Learned a ton about circuits and my soldering skills greatly improved! And most importantly, it sounds great!
