No clipping or distortion here. Thai is into an 8 ohm resistive load. Using various amp bias settings to predict the behaviour , but this it through an ECC99 power tube and a fairly hefty OT from MPS.

We have been playin with the cascode boost values, bypass caps, tubes and OT trying to get the best out of this. All set up in a test jig so we can switch and listen.
Just waiting for the two Heyboer OT to show up and we should be able to determine whats best in this design.

We installed one transformer from MPS but are waiting for the Heyboer ones to arrive. Then we can do a proper tone test. First impressions of the larger OT are that is it is better sounding. More bottom end with a thicker sound.
