Has anyone tried adding a choke to replace the 500 ohm resistor on the screen mode? Most of the available schematics have a choke instead of a resistor and I was thinking about trying it and seeing if it had any significant effect on feel. I think the output transformer is nearing its limits with 6l6s and I’m curious if the smaller voltage drop of the choke might push 6l6s beyond the 40W OT rating. Thoughts?

Interesting concept! Better high-frequency response and less power loss with a choke instead of a resistor might change the amp's dynamics and feel. Be careful not to overdrive the output transformer; monitor temps to avoid damage. Would love to hear about your experiment!
