What would it take to rewire to use a 6SL7 for preamp instead of 6SJ7? I know that that 6SL7 is wired similarly to a 12AX7 but since one is octal and there other is nine pin, so I cannot figure out how to reconcile the difference when I look at a 5F1 circuit. I know the Triton is based on 5C1. So how would I do this in the Triton to take a 6SL7?

6sj7 is a single pentode one stage of gain.

6sl7 is a dual triode two stages of gain. ( you would have to add the appropriate component's for the second triode and convert the pentode into a triode stage.)

Think this is a tag board amp so the board might have to be re designed

Do you want to use both of the triodes (look at the trip top schematic and layouts maybe)
not sure of the plate resistor and cathode resistors you would need though. coco would be more help for that

Why would you want to do this?
