I finally got around to trouble shooting my new amp. Tone controls were not working. went up and down the wiring a few time checked everyout and found on bad solder joint on the ground wire on the mid pot, tone stack works great now. Still having problems with my boost it works fine until its hits 9 and then its gets a high pitched squeal and cuts out.
Reversed the wires on the power tube was worse so they're back the same. I am starting to wonder if I could have gotten solder across the contacts in the pot when I was soldering and its shorting out the wiper at the end? I finished securing the cabinet and chassies today so I'm going to play the hell out of it before I change the pot. I'm a fender guy but I'm loving the crunch with this thing. JGK

Gald you got the tone stack sorted out.

The boost may be just too much in your case with the combination of tubes & parts tolerances. You can try taking the boost cap out of the circuit or increasing the cathode boost resistor to maybe 3K3 from 2K7 or removing it completely.

I will definatly give that a try down the road. I am currently playing the s*** out the little beast and I love it. I am waiting on a Emi Wizard to put in it, got a good deal on it so I'll experiment with that awhile although it sounds pretty good with the old crate speaker I currently have in it. I would like to say thanks to Steven and everyone else how's been so helpfull with advice and experience. Happy Holidays JGK
