I was looking at the diagram for the v6 and wondered if this would work, could someone check my diagram and see if my logic is correct?

Not quite.

You're going to need a .1 uf from pin 2 of the PI to ground or from the 470K to the ground of the 56K.

You can jJust leave the turret in, use .1 uf and tie the end to ground.

Thanks Stephen,

I re-drew the layout with your suggestion, Now I just have to fit it in to a 5e3 chassis, and maybe add your VRM in so I can get a nice crunch at low volume.

If that's what you're looking for (nice crunch at low volume), have you considered getting an Epi Valve Junior or a Blackheart Little Giant & doing a handful of mods? I've done that with my VJ & have a very "British" OD happening. In fact I added a tone control & the volume/tone network I've used is very similar to Stephen's latest sIII Normal channel. Quite a bit hotter though. I plan to make a couple more small modifications, and when I do that the pre-amp will be virtually identical except for the gain.

Honestly I could build this cheaper (and with better quality) than to go out and buy one of tose amps then spend the mony to mod them.

Well, if you can pull it off cheaper by all means go for it! Stephen's designs are excellent. In fact, a "lite" version with just the normal channel might be a nice addition to the Trinity family... :D

I've only put about $200 into the VJr at this point, and that includes replacing the PCB with a turret board. The heads were less expensive when I bought mine. They were $120 CAD at the time. They're FAR too expensive now, but they're just responding to demand I guess.

The whole point of buying it was a mod/experimenting platform. I think the only original parts left in there now are the chassis, transformers, & power switch - and the trannies might be gone in the new year...

Thats the basic idea (a V6 lite) i will be starting to oder everything come the new year, and hopefully have it up and running a shortly after the parts arrive, I already have a 5e3 combo cab built with a 10" speaker sitting in it that I'm not using atm. I think I'll have to get a chassis bent custom as I think a 5E3 chassis would be a tight fit, I'll have to see how much room I have in the cab for a chassis.

It will definitely be a tight fit with all of those tubes. I barely fit them across a 17" rack chassis. Maybe an arrangement something like Egnater did in his Rebel 20
http://www.egnateramps.com/

He's fit a lot of cool features in a small space. I like the variable "tube mix" between the EL84's and the 6V6's...

We're thinking alike. I was thinking a little 1x10 "Lite" combo would be ideal for carting around to jams & small gigs.

I see joeyv's point though. That's a lot of tubes to squeeze into a small box format. Things will get rather busy in there!

It will be tight ( but I think I have about 1.5"-2" of room on each side of the 5e3 chassis in the cab atm), I may have to relocate the impedence switch and tune switch to the front of the amp.
