In the single Tone Tubby, I had to re-locate v1, V2, V3 & V4 to the right to allow for clearance of the speaker bell cover. I plan on making a chassis with extra holes as standard.

I was concerned but it all worked out. Read the review by BillyBob Erickson:

8) Stephen;

Great lookin Combos. Wouldn't it have been easier to offset the speaker in the 1x12 than moving the tube or was the baffle already made up for this build?

Thanks!!!

You got it Pontiac. Later build (the 2X12) drops the spekaer as low as possible to accommodate the Tone Tubby. I think I'll makethem all that way.

hey stephen, i asked a few months back about the baffles on on your combo cabs and how they and the front panel piece are attached. with all these good cab pics, could you please post an internal shot from the back with the amp and back panels removed? there's a good front shot (raw combo cab) in your gallery but i haven't seen a good shot from the back with the amp and panels removed to show how things are attached. thanks a bunch. rh

hello stephan, thanks for the pic. i think i see now. this opens up a couple of other methodology questions for me. so you cut the baffle, add the little strips around perimeter of the baffle (on the front). do you staple the top edge of the grillcloth first and then pull tight around the other 3 sides? also the piping strip---do you staple it to the valance or to the top edge where you just stapled the grill cloth? i'm assuming the baffle edge strips and the valance are both 3/8" plywood--correct? thanks very much for the help. rh

Yes

Staple one Side first, stretch to to ther side - staple , Staple Top then stretch to bottom and staple. Staple only on edge, not back. trimmed cloth off so it doesn't wrap around the back.

Staple to Valence then screw the valence on afterwards.

Baffle is 1/2" material. Stripa are 1/2" Valence 1/2" . Baffle assembly is 1" thick total.

Also, the cleats are attached to the cab and the baffle screwed in from the back.

Stephen, page 45 of my builder's manual has a drawing/layout that shows where the lethal voltage points are, but I can't really see where they are. Is that because they're indicated in color? The manual is printed in black and white, so if that's the case, some folks might find a color repro helpful.
