Hi i fitted a vvr and with it on full i lose about 20 volts from one side of the
b+ in to the out at the cap can, is this normal.
Everything is working fine but i might have to do something with hiss.
After doing a chopstick workout it didn't really do anything so is
there anything else i can try.I've got to put some decent tubes in see if that does anything and after that I'm thinking of using different resisters but
i'm worried it will effect the tone.
Thanks.

IS this a Trinity VRM or the VVR?

Some voltage drop is expected. The Trinity VRM should drop about 5 volts but we found the original VVR from Hall dropped up to 30.

It's controlled by the zener and power resistor. If you have a VVR with 10 ohm power resistor and a 6 V zener reduce the power resistor to 5 ohms.

Other suggestions, you should email Dana/UR12

To reconfirm, I just measured our VRM installed in an amp. Set on max:

351 B+ in
349 M+ out

Thanks for the help, i'll have a look and try it.
Also i'm thinking of adding an on off swithch to the vvr just to compare
the two when you crank it up.
Where would i fit a switch and what sort would i need.

To bypass the VVR, to be safe, you need to switch out both the feed to VVR from standby and VVR to B+ with a DPDT 5A switch. Switch in the standby to filter cap.

Sorry but do you mean both the b+ in and out going to the dpdt switch.
Like the wiring of the boost switch
Do i connect the standby to the cap as normal or do i need an inline on off switch Still not sure what you mean but i'm learning
Thanks

May be esier to put it this way. you want the input the the ouptput of the VVR to be out of the circuit when you switch it out.

But, if you replace the 10 ohm with a 5 ohm 2W, you wont even need to do this.
