Here is my first tube amp

A TRINITY AMPS 18 W Plexi V6.
1 G12M-25 Greenback 8ohms (China :()
1 G12H-30 70th Anniversary edition 8ohms (England :D)

I know it isn't standard color but it is easy to find in the dark :D

Building the beast - Baltic Birch Plywood for Head, Pine for speaker cabinet

Front - Before I installed a VRM. The cab isn't completed (Waiting for the G12H-30 Speaker)

View from the back - Plenty of cooling

Head Front with VRM Installed. I used a 2A switched pot for the power switch. I Like my Logos made with 3/16" Aluminium.

Completed and ready to Rock

Thank's to Stephen and all the great guys who help others here. Without all of you I have never tried to complete a project like this one.

By the way this thing sound great. Much louder than and old 80 watts solid state amp  I once had.

Again excuse my english.

Oh you're right. I didn't realize that these are only cabinetry pictures. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the inside. Will have to open the box, maybe tomorrow. Don't expect much from a first build. And since I didn't want to have Hum or Hiss or Squeal I leave much of the lead floating hoping that being far from each other, none of them induce something weird in the signal chain.

...and if there is anyplace you can direct me on doing such intricate Tolex™ work I would appreciate it 8) I think it has been discussed here before but I'm getting lazy in my old age

Just teasing about the chassis shots... sort of :P

I have made the logos this way:

Created in Photoshop, printed at the right scale.
Spray the back of the paper with spray glue
Put the paper on the 3/16" aluminum plate
Drill some hole on inner cut
Cut with metal blade on a Scroll Saw like this one. But a Simple Jeweler saw can do it. it take just a little more time.

Tolexing isn't my cup of tea. :D

I need to practice a lot.

You can check here at Speaker builder supply forum for some tricks.

http://jam4jmessageboard.websitetoolbox ... get=_blank

But like everything, practice teach you what is the correct way or the incorrect way to do it.

Very nice job! I like the front "windows" so you can see the iron & tubes. I've been playing my V6 a lot lately. Such a wonderful little amp!

Thank you !

Since it was my first tube amp build, I was worried that the tube could go very hot. So I leave plenty of airflow. And in the meantime, I find that showing the tubes, could be pleasing to the eye. Don't want to shock purist though who prefer the more classic look of that kind of amp. But since the amp was build for me, i decided to design it more freely and colorful.

You call the V6 a wonderfull little amp. For me who "play" only on my house this thing is dawn loud. I don't consider it a little amp. But of course if you play in arena, maybe it is a little amp after all :D

:) Well, you have to consider that compared to some of my other amps it is "little". I have a Laney GH100TI (the Tony Iommi signature) that will kill small creatures at 100 paces, and a home-brew JCM800/Plexi hybrid that's the loudest 50w amp I've heard. My V6 is actually quiet by comparison! The PT alone in my JCM800 weighs almost as much as my completed V6, including the head box.

But you're right - in a home context it is pretty loud. :D

Wow!!! 8)

And you say that's your first tube amp build.

I think it looks great having the tubes visible.

Now you need to illuminate the inside with a strip of blue LED's. You could use orange, but the blue sound better and make you play better as well :P

Great job!!
