Hello everyone, this is my first post and i wanted your opinions on phase inverter tubes. I recently purchased a couple nos mullard ecc83 tubes for v1 and v2 in my 18 watter, but i wasnt sure what to use for the PI. Is it worth spending the extra money for nos in this position, or would one of the newer makes work fine? Im sure nos would be a more reliable tube but wasnt sure if you would notice much difference in tone in this position. I'd really appreciate your opinions, thanks guys!

True, you don't necessarily need NOS in the PI position. You might like to try New Sensor's "Mullard" branded ladder-plate 12AX7s. They have a nice, sweet, well-balanced tone.

Thanks Zaphod, i'll keep the regular tube for now and maybe sometime soon splurge for a new nos to try out. Just wanted some second opinions.
