So, I will try to make myself understood with my limited English to see if my idea could work.
The spot for an extra preamp tube on the trinity chassis got me thinking. I would like to build a sIII kit and add an ef86 Vajra preamp, like a pseudo tree channel amp, having separate inputs for each "channel" but sharing the same volume, tone control and phase inverter of the normal channel since the values and wiring are the same at this part of the amp design. Could this be done? Would I have to make a switch
before the volume pot or just "join the wires"?

I have only built a Tweed Super and a cj11 with 6l6's before, I can read schematic, but I have limited knowledge in electronics.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would switch this in with a channel switcher at the jacks so you use the same normal chanel jack(s). but switch in either tube. I guess you could also use one Normal jack for the real normal channel and the other for the EF86. Then you could just connect it at the PI. As long as the unused tube input is grounded, you would be OK.

If not that, you can use a toggle switch just before where the normal channel goes into the phase inverter. Then select your tube that way. Make sure you have a coupling cap in place.

Good to know it's possible! I think I'll do the second suggestion, without a switch.

Thanks! But first I'll order the kit when time comes.
