While wiring up the cathode resistors for this 36 watt setup, I discovered why my 6v6's were kicking my EL 84's asses so bad when switching between them. I read where folks were saying the difference was kinda subtle... I was like " hell no, the 6v6's sound waaaaaay better.. Well they do if you dont wire your jumper from pin 3 to pin 3 on your El 84's. Yes if that wire is omitted, its no contest at all. I'm gonna go ahead and add that wire this time, so both my EL84's can have the benefits of a cathode resistor, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say they might sound better when wired this way.
